You can’t be the best version of yourself without a good night’s sleep. We created Comfort to help you get the sleep you need to feel and live your best. This soothing holistic blend is made with cannabinoids CBD and CBN, as well as Linalool terpene, to provide the serenity and support you need to get the sleep of your dreams.
How Sleep Impacts Health
It might not be apparent, but our bodies and brains work hard while we’re at rest. During the night, cells repair, the immune system fends off invaders, the brain stores long-term memories and removes toxins, and essential molecules and proteins are released. If we don’t get enough sleep, aside from feeling (and looking) like an extra on The Walking Dead, we may also experience more serious, potentially long-term effects, such as increased cortisol levels, decreased immune function, reduced cognitive abilities, and worsening depression and anxiety.
Unfortunately, millions of people have trouble sleeping. Difficulty getting to sleep, waking up multiple times in the night, or poor sleep quality can be a result of various factors, including stress, depression, pain, asthma, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, or other ailments.
The good news is research shows CBD, CBN, and linalool terpene can provide safe, effective, natural sleep support.
All Bespoke Extracts products are made with the highest-quality hemp-derived CBD. For this tincture, we’ve chosen full-spectrum CBD because it contains all of the naturally-occurring compounds in the cannabis plant, including more than 100 cannabinoids, as well as flavonoids, terpenes, and enzymes. All of these components have a synergistic relationship and help one another work more effectively. They also each have distinct health benefits.
CBN (cannabinol) is a byproduct of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) when the latter cannabinoid oxidizes and degrades. When old cannabis plants or extracts are exposed to heat or light, they will develop higher levels of CBN over time. Unlike other cannabinoids, CBN’s prevalence in a plant is determined by the environment, not genetics.
It’s not nearly as well-known as some of its fellow phytocannabinoids, but CBN was the first to be isolated in its pure form. Initially, people thought it was responsible for producing cannabis’ characteristic “high.” But we now know that’s THC.
CBN, like CBD, does not have THC’s psychoactive properties. Instead, its mild sedative properties engender a feeling of overall relaxation, making it an ideal component of a healthy sleep solution.
Linalool is a floral terpene found in more than 200 plant species, including lavender, mint, birch, sweet basil, rosewood, and certain fungi. It’s highly versatile, with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, sedative, and stress-relieving attributes. Along with certain CBD products, you’ll find it in essential oils, skin and hair care products, foods, teas, sleep remedies, and natural cleaning agents, among other items.
We’ve selected linalool for this tincture primarily for its ability to promote relaxation and overall comfort.
People have used linalool, typically in the form of lavender, for centuries in homeopathic medicine. Numerous studies show this powerful terpene can reduce anxiety and depression, as well as pain and stress. Other studies indicate linalool can reduce inflammation and may even help prevent epileptic seizures. Research also shows it may reverse neuropathological and behavioral impairments in Alzheimer’s patients’ brain cells and aid in opioid addiction recovery.
How to Take It
We recommend taking Comfort at night about an hour before bed, although you can take it anytime. Just be sure to take it with food or after eating.
The most efficient way to take a tincture is sublingually (under the tongue), holding it for about 30 seconds before swallowing. Sublingual ingestion is most effective because it directly enters the bloodstream and bypasses the digestive and respiratory systems.
However, you can also add your dose to water, tea, juice, or food.
We recommend starting small with a single dose. Keep a journal and note how you feel before, during, and after. If you don’t notice much of an effect, increase your dosage in increments of 10mg (or ½ dropper) at a time.
Each bottle contains 30 x 40mg doses. One dose is one dropper full. You can also split the amount into two.
Consistency is key, so take it every day. This will establish a cumulative effect so your body can adjust to having additional cannabinoids and use them effectively.
